Dear Parents/Guardians:

Williams County School District #8 would like to welcome you to the 2019-20 academic year. Excitement for the year is ongoing since it marks the opening of our new elementary wing and a January 2020 opening of a new middle school addition at Missouri Ridge. These additions have been driven by our ongoing population increases and our need to upgrade our current facilities. Missouri Ridge and it’s additions, are the culmination of five years of community involvement, discussion, planning and hard work. While the process has not been easy, the state-of-the-art campus is tangible proof of our ultimate focus on providing the highest quality education and service to our community and students. The overwhelmingly positive reaction to the new facility has further energized our commitment to make District 8 the standard by which others strive.

With regard to our academic program, the systems, curriculum and staffing we have in place are strong. Our teachers are highly competent, motivated, and invested in providing our students with the best education possible, and our administrative staff is committed to providing the leadership, training and tools to fuel it all. We look forward to the resulting successes the upcoming school year will bring.

District 8 firmly believes that there is a correlation between involved parents/guardians and student success. With this in mind, we welcome and encourage you to become part of the District 8 team. By working together, we are confident that our students will receive an exceptional educational experience. If you have questions or concerns or would like to celebrate your child’s successes with us, please don’t hesitate to contact your student’s teacher or principal. We feel confident that our combined efforts will result in increased student success and academic excellence.

We hope that this newsletter will help to make the transition from summer vacation to the new school year as seamless as possible. If you have further questions after reading the information, please do not hesitate to contact the district office for assistance. It is our sincere wish to make this process as comfortable as possible.
