Dear Williams County School District 8 Community,

The challenges facing WCSD8 are unique and exciting. They include addressing an immediate shortage of permanent facilities, preparing to welcome home our 9-12 grade students and planning for future growth. Along the way there may be surprises which will require flexibility and problem solving. As your interim superintendent, I look forward to working with you to address the current challenges and creatively plan for the future.

During my 30 plus years in education, I have served as a physical science teacher, PK-12 principal, and superintendent. Recently, I took a break from administration and returned to the classroom to remind myself of what it is like to be a teacher. Additionally, the extreme shortage of special education teachers provided me the opportunity to experience the challenges and successes of staff in this area. Since September 3, 2019 I have been teaching high school special education students in Onamia, MN. These opportunities have provided a wealth of experiences which I will draw on as I work with the WCSD8 School Board to lead the District forward.

Kids First,

Beth A. Zietz\
