Dear Hawk Family,
How are you doing? D8 recognizes this is a very stressful time for families so I wanted to reach out and remind you that the school does have resources for students who may need them.
Teachers are noticing stress in students and we would like to encourage all parents to sit down with each child in your household individually and ask how they are doing.
Here is a link to "How to talk to your kids about CoVID" if you go to this link and scroll down quite a bit there is a "Mental Health" section which includes warning signs to watch for regarding your child's mental health.
Learning is important, but your child's health and well-being are our primary concern. Attendance is really important so that teachers can check in with kids and kids can see each other. Please keep encouraging kids to login. Don't worry about grades, let your child know that we just want them to try and we want to see them because we care.
If your child is stressed about "failing," please assure them that we are working hard to figure out ways that we can help ALL kids get caught up.
If you have any questions, need to talk or you think your child needs mental health assistance, please contact any of the following. . .
School Counselor Reichman, firstname.lastname@example.org
Principal Smith, email@example.com
Principal Guglich, firstname.lastname@example.org
Superintendent Zietz, email@example.com
Principal Morey, firstname.lastname@example.org
Your child's teacher would also be a good source if your child is struggling.
Stay safe, stay well, and know that we care,
